MacConkey Agar Plate (Harmonized) is recommended for selective isolation and cultivation of coliforms from pharmaceutical products in accordance with microbial limit testing by harmonized methodology of USP/EP/BP/JP/IP.
MacConkey Agar have been recommended for use in microbiological examination of foodstuffs and for direct plating/inoculation of water samples for coliform counts. These media are also accepted by the Standard Methods for the Examination of Milk and Dairy Products and pharmaceutical preparations. It is recommended by USP for microbial limit tests.
